Stupid drivers and shitty parents

I work for Rent-A-Center. I sell merchandise, I deliver it and if need be I repossess it. Therefore I am on the road a lot. I get to see some of the worst drivers out there. Here's a list of driving "sins" as I call it.

1. Failure to maintain speed. In other words, someone who can't keep a steady speed. They slow down, speed up, slow down, speed up. It gets very annoying.

2. Failure to follow through with your indicated directional. If you signal that you want to turn, and realize that the turn you're taking is not the one you want, too bad. You complete the turn and turn around down the road. You do not take your blinker off and try cutting back into traffic.

3. Failure to yield to an emergency vehicle. If there is an emergency vehicle behind you with it's lights and sirens on, you need to move over. These people would be the first to throw a shit fit because a friend or family member died because the emergency services didn't get there in time because they got held up by someone not yielding to them. So move over.

4. Failure to yield. When you see a yield sign, it doesn't mean to speed up and cut off the persons you are supposed to yield to. This is how a lot of rear end collisions occur.

5. Failure to properly merge on the highway. If you are coming to the end of an on-ramp you do not just lazily drive out, cut people off and putt putt to the posted limit. This is a two way street though. If you're driving on the highway, and someone is visibly merging a 1/4 mile ahead, you do not speed up to try to cut them off. Simple as that.

6. Inability to drive in winter conditions. There should be a mandatory winter driving course when you get your license. If you fail, you do not get your license. If you take away all these people because they no longer have a license, the roads would be a lot safer, in the winter and summer.

In my line of work, when someone goes past due, it is my job to counsel them whether it is on the the phone, in the store or at their house. Generally if I have to go to the house, I've failed in doing my job and I just need to retrieve my merchandise at that point. What ends up happening most of the time when someone goes past due, and they come in to make a payment, they send their kid in with the money. What the hell is up with that? It's pretty simple actually. Most of these people are lacking a spine. Rather than come in, face the music for a few moments, they'll send a child in to do their dirty work. It's really no different than a terrorist suiting up a kid with explosives and sending him into a crowded bus terminal. These people do the same thing on the phone and in the house as well. If I call, sometimes I hear them in the background telling their child to tell me they're not home. Rather than just talking to me, they make their kid tell me they're not home, they're sleeping, etc. Or when I get to the house, they'll send their kid to the door to tell me they're not home. Give me a fucking break people. And it gets better because when these kids grow up, have kids of their own, they'll do the same thing. It's a viscious circle.
